Sign up for the Voice of the Academic Support Staff Qualitative Research Project.

Those that know me well understand the majority of my career has been in the athletic academic advising and eligibility space. In 2018, I did a survey called The Voice of the Athletic Academic Advisor, an attempt to understand how advisors were feeling about college athletics. I was surprised how many people signed up and wanted to participate in the mostly open-ended question survey.

Lately, there’s been a lot of Twitter engagement from academic support staffers about the current and future trajectory of college athletics at the division one level. As I start the qualitative research business component of Higher Ed Athletics I knew I wanted to do a first study to get the kinks worked out while tackling an issue I’m passionate about – academic support staff opinions!

In the second week of August (more details to come), I want to do a complete qualitative study, including focus groups, one-on-one interviews and a survey guided by the focus group and interview sessions. The identities and school affiliations will be protected. I will share more detailed information with those that want to participate, including how the information will be shared.

If you are interested in participating in this study, please fill out the Qualtrics sign-up form in the button below. This link cannot be tracked, and can’t be used to identify respondents, just in case you want to click it without committing.

Fill out the contact form with any questions and I will get back to you ASAP. You can also use that contact form to share any ideas or topics you’d like included in the study. Finally, I’m not sure this will meet the sniff test of the N4A, so please share with your colleagues individually if you think they would like to participate.
