This episode is the first high school AD interview and it’s at the high school I went to, in the town I still live. Aimee Harvey has overseen athletics at Danville Community High School during a time of significant changes to the town and school. The high school is nearing the finish of a multi-year renovation that has seen basically every square foot reimagined. Harvey talks about living through the construction and trying to keep the focus on the student-athlete experience. We then talk about the AD pipeline for high schools and why the job requirements should change to reflect the nature of the job. She also talks about the growth of the school that has forced conference realignment changes that are still not completely finished. Harvey hired new boys and girls basketball coaches this past year for the Warriors and details her thought process for both situations.
